ArmInfo.A new specialized non-governmental organization, the National Association of Gambling Operators of Armenia, is launching its activities in Armenia, striving to create a responsible and transparent gambling environment, as noted in a statement issued by the organization.
For the first time, the National Association of Gambling Operators of Armenia represents the gambling sector in Armenia not only as a commercial activity, but also as a sector with an important component of public trust and responsibility. The goal of the Association is to facilitate a reconsideration of public perception of the industry based on the principles of transparency, accountability, and evidence-based practices.
The Association is being established as an independent industry structure focusing on three key areas: promoting a culture of responsible gambling, preventing illegal gambling activities, and supporting the development of public policy based on international experience. The organization clearly emphasizes that it does not pursue any commercial interests and is not engaged in the distribution of gambling services. The Association's activities are aimed at creating a balanced, ethical, and regulated gaming environment.
It should be noted that the Armenian parliament is scheduled to hold discussions next week on a new bill intended to further tighten regulations on gambling activities in the country. In 2025, Armenia's gambling industry underwent significant changes aimed at increasing state budget revenues. A 10% turnover tax was introduced on July 1 for all types of gambling, including online casinos, bookmakers, and lotteries. The reform is expected to generate an additional 13 billion drams for the state budget. Gambling duties have doubled, reaching 350 million drams for online casinos and 100 million drams for bookmakers. According to the Armenian Ministry of Finance, gambling revenues to the budget during the reporting period totaled 23.4 billion drams.
