ArmInfo. Armenia intends to ratify the Armenian-Kazakh protocol to the intergovernmental agreement "On International Automobile Communication". The issue is on the agenda of the RA government meeting scheduled for January 30.
As noted in the rationale for the draft decision, the intergovernmental agreement was signed on November 6, 2006, and the protocol - on April 15, 2024. During the implementation of the current agreement, an issue arose concerning legislative regulations regarding the collection of road and environmental taxes. To address the issue, amendments to the agreement were necessary to regulate the provision of benefits by the parties to exempt vehicles registered in the respective territories from taxes and fees. To resolve the above- mentioned issue, a corresponding protocol was signed to streamline the process of road transportation of goods between the two countries and enhance the role of Armenian transit in regional cargo transportation.
