


ArmInfo. Armenian schoolchildren won one bronze medal at the 2nd International Physics and Mathematics Olympiad on Artificial Intelligence, which took place in Almaty on October 30-31. A total of 124 students from 47 teams representing 7 countries participated in the Olympiad, the press service of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports of the Republic of Armenia reported.
Armenia was represented at the Olympiad by four teams from the Gyumri school "Photon." The school's first team, consisting of 11th-grade students Artyom Hovhannisyan, Lilit Hakobyan, and Aram Minasyan, won the bronze medal. They completed theoretical and practical assignments.
The assignments presented to the participants focused on solving real-world problems and required a high level of knowledge in machine and deep learning. The second team from "Photon" included 10th-grade students Gurgen Bayburdyan, Mkrtich Gabrielyan, and Aram Metsoyan; the third team included 10th-grade students Samvel Sahakyan, Karen Martirosyan, and Artsrun Martirosyan; and the fourth team included 10th-grade students Silva Khachatryan and Narek Petrosyan.
The team selection was conducted by the organizers based on the results of the first round, which was held online in September. The team leaders were representatives of the organization. Aram Bagiyan and Zhora Unupoglyan of "Improviz." The Improviz Olympic Center prepared the teams and co-financed their participation in the final stage of the Olympiad.
