ArmInfo.The Armenian delegation, led by Speaker of the National Assembly Alen Simonyan, is currently on a working visit to Istanbul. They are participating in the plenary session of the 152nd Assembly of the Inter-Parliamentary Union (IPU), as reported by the press service of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia.

ArmInfo. On April 16, Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan and Romanian Foreign Minister Oana-Silvia Toiu held a phone conversation to discuss initiatives aimed at deepening the partnership between Armenia and  the EU.

ArmInfo.During a meeting in Yerevan, the Secretary of the Armenian Security Council, Armen Grigoryan, and the Head of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) delegation in Armenia, Daphne Mare, discussed the  details of ongoing programs implemented within the framework of bilateral cooperation.

ArmInfo.  The Pan-Armenian Council for the Preservation of the Armenian Church considers the government's campaign against the Armenian Apostolic Church (AAC) a deliberate, planned spiritual massacre.

ArmInfo. The Green Climate Fund Board has approved a new national program for Armenia: "Enhancing National Adaptation Capacity to Climate-Induced Natural Hazards through Strengthening Monitoring and Early Warning Systems," as noted in a statement issued by the RA Ministry of Environment.

ArmInfo. Armenian Ombudsperson Anahit Manasyan has responded to the situation regarding the obstruction of lawyers' access to detained members and supporters of the Strong Armenia party.

ArmInfo. The Anti-Corruption Committee of Armenia reports the arrest of 14 individuals suspected of giving and receiving election bribes. The source notes that additional information will be provided as needed. It should be noted that early in the morning of April 16, law enforcement officers  searched the homes of Strong Armenia party supporters, after which  they were detained.  

ArmInfo.  The number one candidate on the Strong Armenia Party's electoral list, if the political party wins the parliamentary elections scheduled for June 7, 2026, will become the interim leader, ensuring party chairman Samvel Karapetyan's rise to power. Narek Karapetyan, a member of the Strong Armenia Party Council, stated this in an interview with the Armenian  television channel Kentron, when asked why he is first on the party's  electoral list if Samvel Karapetyan is the party's candidate for  prime minister.

ArmInfo.  To maintain their power, Armenia's current representatives are once again maneuvering between the West and Russia, becoming pro-Western when necessary, and pro-Russian when necessary. Armen Rustamyan, a member of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia from the opposition "Armenia" faction, stated this in a conversation with journalists on April 16.

ArmInfo.  Another representative of the Strong Armenia party and supporters of the political party were detained this morning, and searches are underway at the party's offices. Legal expert and member of the Strong Armenia party, Gohar Meloyan, reported this on her Facebook page.

ArmInfo. RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan invites citizens of Armenia to participate in the car rally, which will take place on April 19 and will travel towards Gyumri. 

ArmInfo.  To mark the announcement of Meghri as the CIS Cultural Capital in 2026, official delegations from CIS member states, cultural figures, representatives of the CIS Executive Committee, and the leadership of the Interstate Fund for Humanitarian Cooperation of the CIS countries arrived in the city.

ArmInfo. At a meeting with a delegation of the Congress of Local and Regional Authorities of the Council of Europe (CLRAE), the Armenian Ombudsman, Anahit Manasyan, presented the steps taken by the Office of the Human Rights Defender (OHRA) to develop the local self- government system and ensure its effective functioning in the country.

ArmInfo. On April 15, 2026, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan Akhmet Gurbanov met with the Armenian Ambassador to Turkmenistan, Arsen Avagyan.  They engaged in a lively exchange of views on priority areas of Turkmen-Armenian partnership.

ArmInfo. The Armenian sports world was revived thanks to the tenure of Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) leader Gagik Tsarukyan as President of the National Olympic Committee (NOC). This was written on Facebook by Prosperous Armenia Party Press Secretary Ivetta Tonoyan in response to statements by Arayik Harutyunyan, Chief of Staff to the Prime Minister of Armenia, that Tsarukyan, already 70 years old, is ineligible to serve as  President of the NOC.

ArmInfo. The most important achievement of the current Armenian authorities over the past five years is the established peace with Azerbaijan. Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan stated this from the podium of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia on April 16.
