Yerevan Municipality`s Inaction and irresponsibility continue to hit  Yerevan residents financially

ArmInfo. The inaction and irresponsibility of the Yerevan Municipality, led by Mayor Tigran Avinyan, continue to hit Yerevan residents financially. Rain that  fell in the evening of April 12 in the Armenian capital once again  turned Gyurjyan Street in the Nor Nork district into an impassable  mud lake.

It got to the point where residents were forced to call rescuers to  free their cars trapped in the newly formed lake.

According to a report from the Rescue Service of the Ministry of  Internal Affairs of Armenia, starting at 11:40 PM on April 12, the  112 Operations Center of the Ministry of Internal Affairs began  receiving reports of vehicles stuck in water due to heavy rain on  Sevan and Gyurjyan Streets in Yerevan. "A rescue team from the  Special Operations and Rescue Center of the Rescue Forces Department  of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and a combat team from the Fire  and Rescue Service of the Yerevan City Rescue Department were  dispatched to the scene. The rescuers who arrived at the scene pulled  the vehicles from the flooded areas," the department said in a  statement. The Rescue Service of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of  Armenia, either intentionally or accidentally, did not specify how  many vehicles were rescued from the mud lake.

However, according to video footage posted by citizens on social  media, more than a dozen vehicles were stuck in the water on Gyurjyan  Street alone. It is noteworthy that, despite the fact that citizens  have been raising the issue of water accumulation on Gyurjyan Street  for at least three years now due to the poor design of the roadway on  this section - without the necessary drainage pipes - the situation  remains unchanged, and the Yerevan Municipality has not lifted a  finger to resolve the current deplorable situation, which is  seriously affecting the pockets of city residents, turning this  section of the road into an impassable ford every time it rains in  the city.
