


ArmInfo. Officers from the Shengavit municipal police department in Yerevan have solved a drug trafficking case. During the search, weapons and ammunition were also found, according to a statement from the RA Ministry of Internal Affairs.
According to the source, police received intelligence that a 36-year-old resident of Araratyan Street was illegally acquiring, storing, and selling drugs. On April 9 at 11:30 AM, law enforcement officers stopped the car he was driving on Shirak Street in the capital, detained him and a passenger, and took them to the Shengavit district police station. During the search, two bags of crystal ore and a folding knife were found on the driver, and a folding knife and an IV drip with traces of ash were found on the passenger. A criminal case was opened. On the same day, a court-ordered search was conducted at the 36-year-old man's residence. In addition to marijuana, hemp seeds, and drug paraphernalia, a grenade with an explosive device, a pistol, and a folding knife were found. The 36-year-old man was arrested and taken to a penal facility.
The circumstances are being clarified during the preliminary investigation.
