


ArmInfo. Armenian schoolchildren won 9 medals at the 17th International Informatics Tournament (IATI 2026) in Bulgaria.
As reported to ArmInfo by the press service of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports (MECS), the tournament was held online this year for two age groups: senior (grades 10-12) and junior (grades 7-9). A total of 440 schoolchildren from 16 countries participated in the tournament.
The MECS reported that Armenia was represented by 20 students from six educational institutions. In the senior age group, 12th-grade student Alex Grigoryan from Quantum School won a silver medal, while 11th-grade students Tigran Matsakyan and Vahagn Gyozalyan from Shahinyan Physics and Mathematics School, 10th-grade students Aren Grigoryan and Hayk Manukyan from Quantum School, and 9th-grade student Mamikon Ambharyan from Gyumri Primary School No. 41 won five bronze medals. The Ministry explained that the latter participant expressed a desire to participate in the senior age group.
In the junior age group, according to the source, 8th-grade student Vache Kocharyan from Quantum School won a gold medal, while 9th-grade students Herbert Khondkaryan from Shahinyan Physics and Mathematics School and 7th-grade students Hayk Adamyan from Quantum School won bronze medals.
