


ArmInfo. Mikael Aleksanyan, a 12th-grade student from Vanadzor Specialized School, won a bronze medal at the 60th International Mendeleev Chemistry Olympiad in Moscow.
According to information provided by the press service of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports (MOESCS) to ArmInfo, the Olympiad consisted of three stages: two theoretical and one practical. According to the source, more than 200 schoolchildren from 37 countries took part in the event. The team was led by Andranik Davinyan, a researcher at the Scientific and Technological Center for Organic and Pharmaceutical Chemistry of the National Academy of Sciences. He is also the Chairman of the Commission for the Republican Chemistry Olympiad. Armenia was also represented at the Olympiad by Hayk Harutyunyan, a student from the Quantum Gymnasium.
The Ministry noted that the Armenian team had previously won a silver medal at the 59th International Mendeleev Olympiad in Brazil.
