ArmInfo. Today, April 25, is the " Day of Deceived Citizen's, " as announced by Narek Karapetyan, a member of the Strong Armenia party, in his video address.
He noted that if Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan were forced to speak only the truth today, the public would hear the following: "I'm making promises now because I want to secure a third term, the very same third term we fought against eight years ago. In my 2021 election platform, I promised to halve poverty, but I couldn't because I was busy with other issues, and I didn't even reduce it by 2%. I know that 600,000 people live in poverty. I gave them hope for eight years, but, in fact, I left them in poverty, and instead, I merely raised pensions by 10,000 drams, hoping the people would forgive me."
According to Karapetyan, Pashinyan would also be forced to admit that he had reached a non-aggression agreement with the neighboring country until the elections and is ready to fulfill all its demands to retain power. This includes, he said, amending the Constitution and the possible settlement of Azerbaijanis in Armenia. The party member also stated that the prime minister should acknowledge the existence of foreign debt incurred at the expense of citizens.
According to Karapetyan, the next government should preserve this date, renaming it the "Day of Deceived Citizen," to prevent those- who "speak beautifully"- from leading the country toward destruction again.
It should be noted that several years ago, the Armenian authorities declared April 25 a public holiday— "Citizen's Day."
