ArmInfo. "The war that Pashinyan promises for September in the event he is not re-elected will not happen, because in September Pashinyan will not be there, and Armenia is threatened by two individuals – Aliyev and him." This was stated today at a press conference by Samvel Karapetyan, the head of the largest opposition party "Strong Armenia," a well-known businessman and philanthropist.
According to him, without serious guarantors of peace, the country will be a tool in Aliyev's hands. In this direction, Armenia will conduct a correct international policy, restoring and forming good relations with both superpowers and all countries in the region. Only then will we have a dignified, long-term, and stable peace.
At the same time, the problem of protecting the rights of the people of Artsakh has become the most difficult one, and because of a weak, powerless government, we find ourselves facing the fact of a lost second Homeland. Therefore, first and foremost, we must ensure a dignified life for the Armenians of Artsakh in Armenia, and then do everything for their safe return to Artsakh.
In this vein, Karapetyan also spoke about the possibility of returning Armenian prisoners, including Ruben Vardanyan. "Considering the internal state in the neighboring country, we are not in a position to influence the lawlessness occurring there. When justice prevails in Armenia, the new government will do everything to ensure our patriots return home. I am confident that our force can achieve this goal by utilizing extensive international ties and serious capabilities."
Responding to a question about whether it was accidental that he called Pashinyan a "sick man" — after which the Prime Minister thanked Karapetyan for caring about his health since the Premier had the flu — the leader of "Strong Armenia" noted that he had one specific "illness" in mind, not knowing that Pashinyan, as it turns out, has many illnesses.
