ArmInfo. The new biometric passports for Armenian citizens will be highly secure and incorporate advanced international practices. A delegation led by RA Minister of Internal Affairs Arpine Sargsyan paid a working visit to Haarlem, the Netherlands, where the new passports will be printed at a manufacturing facility of the French company IN Groupe.
According to the Ministry of Internal Affairs' press service, during the visit, the combination of the passport cover and pages, including the polycarbonate data page and visa pages, was presented. Pre-press testing, color selection, and the integration of sketches, taking into account all security components, were discussed.
Isabelle Lauzon, Director of International Business Development at Private Partner, assured the Minister that the company has mobilized its best resources and made every effort to meet the needs of the Armenian side and produce a high-quality document. She emphasized that the program's goal is to bring to Armenia advanced global practices in the field of identity cards and documents, ensuring a qualitatively new level of data and document protection based on entirely new approaches.
The delegation, led by the minister, toured the production facility, learned about individual template production components, the latest technologies, and quality differences, and received professional consultations.
The private partner's experts are specialists working for the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO), who ensure the passport's compliance with current and emerging international standards.
Arpine Sargsyan was presented with comprehensively tested color solutions for visa pages, which were integrated with the fundamental printing principles. The most harmonious and reliable options were selected. French and Dutch specialists presented the advantages and risks of choosing each shade, explained international color selection principles, and the capabilities of the latest technologies.
The printing paper has undergone special processing: a watermark in the form of the coat of arms and fibers, including tricolor fibers specially produced for the Republic of Armenia, have been added to the composition. Over the next two weeks, during the pre-printing stage of the biometric passport, first individual pages and then the entire form will undergo a comprehensive quality check. The results will be presented to the Ministry of Internal Affairs for a decision on finalizing the documents.
