ArmInfo. During the peaceful action by Artsakh residents outside the building K. Demirchyan complex, where the opening of the 8th summit of the European political community was taking place, the participants were approached by a group of three people carrying US, Ukrainain and EU flags.
According to a video footage circulating online, the group remained silent standing next to the participants of the action and didn't make any formal statements or chant any slogans, which made their motives unclear.
Tensions rose when one of the participants of the action demanded the group leave, arguing that their presence and the flags they carried, had no relevance to the goals of the Artsakh community's actions. Then several men also urged them to leave, asking about the reasons for such a provocation.
It is worth noting that law enforcement officers did not interfere in the situation until the protesters began physically ushering them toward the exit, at which point the police removed them from the area. The purpose of their presence at the SCC remained unclear.
Note that the heads of delegations and guests of the 8th summit of the European political community were "met" with banners by the participants of the protest action, drawing the attention of the European leaders to the issues of the people of Artsakh and democracy in Armenia.
The action participants urged the European leaders to prioritize all issues related to the protection of the rights of Artsakh residents, the return of Armenian prisoners of war from Azerbaijan, and the preservation of Armenian cultural and historical heritage in Artsakh.
