ArmInfo. Lawyers Lusine Martirosyan and Vardua Elbakyan took on the defense of the victims in the high-profile case of sexual violence against underage sisters in Vedi.
As reported by Lusina Martirosyan on her Facebook page, in the case of the schoolgirls, an application was filed in the name of the General Prosecutor of the Republic of Armenia with the request to transfer the criminal proceedings from the investigative department of the Ararat Region Investigative Committee of the RA to another investigative body.
The application also presents the circumstances of the incident (incidents) and related episodes, which, according to the lawyer, require additional legal assessment.
At present, the reaction of the RA Prosecutor General is expected.
"This is a truly terrible case, which, according to our data, was hidden by law enforcement agencies, and the guilty move freely around the Vedi community," Martirosyan wrote.
Let's note that journalist Suzy Badoyan signaled about such a blatant case in Vedi. According to her, two men - residents of Vedi, 58-year-old Artur Eremyan and 65-year-old David Ainazyan, are accused of sexual violence against children. The last ones are on freedom.
<V Vedi law enforcement agencies are trying to carefully avoid the main character of this disgusting story. I have a record. I will share the details later. "I just want to remind you of one coincidence - Minister of Internal Affairs Arpine Sargsyan is also a native of Vedi," Badoyan wrote.
Another human rights activist, Ruben Melikyan, is closely following the case. He refused to believe that the head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs is somehow connected with hiding the truth about the guilty, calling such a position complicity in such a terrible crime. The human rights activist also expressed his displeasure with Minister Sargsyan's comment on Anna Hakobyan's edition of RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's companion <Haykakan zhamanak>, in which she called the information published by journalist Suzy Badoyan another misinformation.
