ArmInfo. On May 5, RA Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan met with representatives of the international organization VenueEra Holding, headed by CEO Jan Jents. The MESCS press service reported this.
The source notes that the company is involved in the construction of Category IV stadiums in Ijevan and Vanadzor. Zhanna Andreasyan emphasized the importance of stadium construction and reconstruction ahead of the 2029 FIFA World Youth Championship, recalling that the International Federation of Football Associations (FIFA) approved the joint bid of Armenia and Georgia. Games in the tournament will be held in Yerevan, Vanadzor, and Ijevan. The Minister emphasized that the project is strategically important not only for the development of sports infrastructure but also for regional tourism and infrastructure improvement. Therefore, the work must be completed on time and to a high standard, in accordance with international standards.
During the meeting, the key stages of the project's implementation were discussed, as well as compliance with FIFA and UEFA technical requirements. It was noted that, according to current regulations, stadiums must be operational no later than six months before the start of the tournament.
A number of infrastructure issues were also discussed, including access roads, logistics, water supply, fire safety systems, and the possibility of expanding adjacent territories. It was noted that an interdepartmental working group, comprising all responsible agencies, will be formed to ensure the effective implementation of the project. As a reminder, the Armenian government previously allocated funds for the construction of a UEFA-compliant football stadium in the Getahovit settlement of the Ijevan community in the Tavush region, as well as for the reconstruction of the Vanadzor stadium and its compliance with UEFA Category 4 standards. The stadiums in Vanadzor and Ijevan will become modern sports centers of regional significance, each with a capacity of approximately 10,000 spectators.
The international organization VenueERA Holding designs and builds renowned UEFA Category 4 stadiums, including the Puskas Arena football stadium in Budapest, the King Abdullah Sports City stadium in Saudi Arabia, and the Gazprom Arena stadium in St. Petersburg.
