ArmInfo. The Republican Party of Armenia intends to direct its full potential and resources to ensuring the collective success of the opposition in the upcoming election process, as stated by Tigran Abrahamyan, a member of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA), during a briefing on May 8.
He emphasized that the party is open for dialogue with various opposition forces, and is ready to engage in consultative and organizational work across a range of issues. According to Abrahamyan, such activities are already underway.
At the same time, he refuted suggestions that the RPA is exclusively supporting the Strong Armenia party due to its participation in its rallies.
"I assure you that we are working with various opposition forces on many issues. It's not just Strong Armenia. Over the past five years, the RPA has participated in events organized by various political forces, including those that criticized our party. However, wherever we saw a political necessity, we were always there," Abrahamyan said.
He also noted that parliamentary forces have the opportunity to be represented on electoral commissions for oversight purposes. In this regard, the MP noted that the RPA is ready to ensure oversight of the electoral process throughout Armenia at this important stage.
Recall, on April 1, the Republican Party of Armenia announced it would not participate in the June 7 parliamentary elections. Party leader Serzh Sargsyan stated that their stance was dictated, among other things, by a desire not to further divide the opposition, to give political forces a chance to fulfill their promises, and to counter the narrative that the former authorities, through their behavior, were hindering a change of power in the country.
