Bright Armenia party opposes formation of absolute power in RA  Parliament 

ArmInfo. The Bright Armenia Party opposes the formation of an absolute power in the National Assembly. This was stated by party leader and RA Prime Ministerial candidate Edmon Marukyan during a campaign in the city of Gavar on May 13.

He called on those gathered to vote for the political force he leads,  which will allow for a democratic faction in parliament that will  prevent a rollback and become a shareholder in the National Assembly.  The politician noted that approximately 200,000 voters do not want to  cast their ballots for either the government or the opposition.  Currently, the authorities are focusing their attention on three  opposition forces, understanding that if they win the elections,  nothing will change in the country. "With our help, the people will  be represented in the National Assembly, a parliament will be formed  from various political forces, and a compromise prime minister will  emerge who will be impossible to pressure," Marukyan said.

He also pointed to another possible scenario: if citizens simply  don't go to the polls, but in that case, the situation that has  developed in Yerevan will repeat itself, where a force that received  only 75,000 votes governs the 1.5 million-strong city. As a result,  Marukyan continued, the capital's air quality, greenery, and  transportation are disgraceful.

The party leader also criticized the authorities' policies, which are  revising the country's history to please Azerbaijan and Turkey. He  noted that the authorities have removed the image of Mount Ararat  from customs stamps and intend to do so if they win the election;  Mesrop Mashtots has become a currency code in the alphabet book; the  Armenian Apostolic Church is being persecuted in Armenia, while  Armenian churches are being destroyed in Azerbaijan.

In response to Baku's acts of vandalism, official Yerevan maintains  that "they do what they think is right on their own territory."  "Imagine if they said the same thing about genocide-that they do what  they think is right on their own territory," Edmon Marukyan  concluded.

As a reminder, Armenia will hold parliamentary elections on June 7,  with 19 political forces-17 parties and two blocs-participating.
