ArmInfo. Matsak Matosyan, head of the Spitak office of second Armenian President Robert Kocharyan's Armenia Bloc, has been released. The Anti-Corruption Court rejected the prosecution's motion to detain him. Lawyer Alexander Kochubaev announced this on his Facebook page.
He recalled that the Anti-Corruption Committee of Armenia opened a criminal case yesterday afternoon against the leadership of the Armenia Bloc's Spitak office and filed a motion for his detention. "Matsak Matosyan has been released from the courtroom. Campaigning can and should be carried out during the election campaign," Kochubaev stated. It should be noted that on May 14, the Anti-Corruption Committee announced the opening of a criminal case against representatives of the opposition party for "violating the ban on charity" and for allegedly coercing voters into voting for a particular candidate. The committee reported that searches had been conducted at the bloc's office in Spitak, and that arrests had been made.
