Edmon Marukyan: If successful, we will oust one called President of  Armenia

ArmInfo. The Bright Armenia Party held a protest in front of the Presidential Administration building on May 15.

Party leader and RA Prime Minister candidate Edmon Marukyan noted  that, according to the Constitution, the president is the head of  state. "We came here to get an answer to one question: will we be  proud of this man after June 7, or will we be ashamed? We don't want  a president who resembles a British king. We don't need a head of  state who, when he sees Ilham Aliyev, bows to him more than any  Azerbaijani official.  We don't need a president who has no  disagreements with the executive, legislative, or judicial branches  of government on any issue," said Edmon Marukyan.

He added that the head of state should act as a counterweight, not  sign scandalous and controversial bills, and submit inquiries to the  Constitutional Court. Meanwhile, everyone in the country has a  president with zero authority.

Marukyan urged voters to vote for the Bright Armenia party in the  upcoming elections, the only political force with a distinct vision  for the presidency. By voting for the party, they will have the  opportunity to change this disgraceful institution. "Even if he  doesn't step down, we will remove him through impeachment. But if we  succeed, he will very quickly resign," Marukyan noted, recalling the  shameful statement by RA President Vahagn Khachaturyan, who recently  declared in Kirants that he was seeing the country's land border for  the first time. "Essentially, this person is repeating Azerbaijan's  argument that all borders with Armenia are arbitrary, except for the  12.9 kilometers that have been delimited. The time is near, and we  will push him away. With this symbolic action, we want to remind the  people that there is such an institution as the presidency, which  everyone has forgotten," the politician noted.
