ArmInfo. The only direct external influence on Armenia's domestic political processes is Azerbaijan's influence on the current Armenian authorities; everything else is a fairy tale. Political scientist Vahe Hovhannisyan, a member of the Alternative Projects group, writes this on his Facebook page.
"Why did Nikol choose the idea of three major influential forces, allegedly under external and hybrid influence in Armenia, as his main campaign strategy?
For a very simple reason: the image of real influence is a cover. He and his team are under external influence. The only direct external influence on Armenia's domestic political processes is Azerbaijan's influence on the current Armenian government. The rest is a fairy tale. As for hybrid influence and the use of dirty tricks, this is also being done for Nikol's team, and the best influence was yesterday's publication in the Russian-language newspaper Insider. Completely false information, spread from top government officials to the press. Expect hysteria, controlled remotely by circles living via SMS, but don't take it seriously," the political scientist noted.
He wondered what to do in this situation. "The only way is to neutralize external factors, which means strengthening the Armenian factor." We have the resources and the potential if we can explain to our society that tomorrow, when we are again subjected to attacks, aggression, and attempts at ethnic cleansing, we will receive only telegrams of condolence and calls for mutual restraint. Nothing more. In the coming weeks of the election campaign, the emphasis must be on the Armenian factor. Russian, Belarusian, American, European, and other supposed influences are all empty words, a waste of time. The choice is simple: the Armenian factor is the new government, and this government is the Azerbaijani factor," wrote Vahe Hovhannisyan.
