ArmInfo. "Unfortunately, these days the authorities are once again trying to turn the election campaign into an atmosphere of threats, political blackmail, and fear. Those who loudly talk about democracy today do not tolerate dissent, and any criticism of the opposition is met with aggression and pressure," Gagik Tsarukyan, leader of the Prosperous Armenia Party, stated during a campaign in the Shirak region.
According to him, people no longer want to live in an atmosphere of hatred and hostility. No unlawful arrest or political persecution can silence the voice of the people. "I urge you not to despair and not to lose faith. Very soon, we will begin a new path together—more united and confident in the future. Our goal is to restore the dignity of the Armenian people, trust in the state, and national unity," he stated.
Gagik Tsarukyan demanded evidence of the espionage accusations against the party's second-placed candidate, Andranik Tevanyan, expressing confidence that everything said about Tevanyan is slander, and that he is a decent, courageous man and patriot. "Andranik Tevanyan is my friend and colleague. Our entire team is with him. Let them prove he's a spy. If not, we will hold him accountable for this slander. If they can prove it, I will personally shoot my friend; if not, then let the slanderers step into the cage of my lion," the businessman said.
