Karapetyan: Strong diplomacy to be the formula for securing peace in  Armenia

ArmInfo.Strong diplomacy will be the formula for securing peace in Armenia, as stated by Samvel Karapetyan, leader of the "Strong Armenia" bloc, at a press conference in Yerevan on May 22, when asked to clarify their  political force's peace formula.

He also clarified what they intend to do specifically to establish  peace. First and foremost, according to Karapetyan, the priority is  to restore relations with Armenia's allies. "In addition, we intend  to strengthen our relations with other superpowers. I have already  said that the country has no other choice. We must have trusting  relationships (with our allies - ed.)," the bloc leader stated.

Meanwhile, as Karapetyan noted,  the current Armenian leadership, in  its bid to maintain power, is constantly engaged in daily intrigues  and shifts between different factions, while simultaneously  introducing Azerbaijani narratives into the country. The leader of  the "Strong Armenia" bloc warned that this approach is fraught with  new trials for the nation. "And I am certain that we will see this  happen very soon. We, on the other hand, intend to build a modern  military and ensure dignified conditions for service.  All military  personnel will receive salaries. We will ensure that military service  becomes a source of pride, rather than a reason for people to leave  the country," Karapetyan emphasized.

Elaborating on what constitutes correct diplomacy, the leader of the  "Strong Armenia" bloc explained that peace cannot exist without  guarantors. He noted that the countries acting as guarantors of peace  will not simply hold the status of observers. According to him,  treaties will be concluded with them, under which these states will  be legally obligated to guarantee peace in Armenia. "We understand  very well which countries can act as guarantors; however, at this  moment, we will not publicly disclose which specific states we are  referring to. These will be key regional powers. But if, for example,  the United States also wishes to become a guarantor, we would welcome  it. If the European Union wishes to guarantee our peace as well, that  would also be good. The most important thing is that these guarantors  are secured," the bloc leader noted.

He drew attention to the fact that the current authorities have  already surrendered parts of the territory and declared the  establishment of peace. However, Karapetyan noted that tomorrow it  might turn out that new territories must be surrendered to maintain  this peace—such as surrendering Syunik, among others. "We intend to  emerge from this humiliated state, and to do so very rapidly. Do not  think that this requires years.  No, it will be achieved very  quickly. I am confident we can do it. People tell me that I lack  experience, but that is a wrong view—I have it. I know how to build  relationships in a way that evokes trust," Karapetyan assured. In  summary, he wondered what else needs to happen for everyone to  understand that today the Armenian people are on the verge of losing  their state.
