Problems in Armenian-Russian relations are not as deep and  comprehensive as they are portrayed - RA FM

ArmInfo.Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan is confident that the problems in Armenian-Russian relations are not as deep and comprehensive as they are portrayed, or as they are deliberately exploited by certain  individuals or groups.

"This has always been a problem - decades ago, a year ago, today, and  to some extent, it could be tomorrow. With such volumes of supplies,  such problems can always arise," the Armenian Foreign Minister said  in a conversation with journalists, referring to the restrictions  imposed by the Russian Federation on certain Armenian products. He  described it as normal for products with problems to be denied entry  to the Russian market, adding that any country would do the same if  non-conforming products were found, including Armenia.

When asked to comment on the assertions made by Dmitry Medvedev,  Deputy Chairman of the Russian Security Council and Chairman of the  United Russia party, that Armenia is deliberately severing relations  with Russia, Mirzoyan assured that these assertions are untrue.

"These assertions are false. Armenia is not interested in severing  political, economic, or other ties with the Russian Federation," he  said, referring to his interest in developing Armenian-Russian  relations.

Earlier, Medvedev stated that Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan  is persistently pushing the republic into the European Union, while  trying to preserve all the benefits of membership in the Eurasian  Economic Union.
