According to Khachikyan, the first goal is to accelerate the realization of the so-called "Zangezur Corridor" and secure additional agreements to ensure that the ceding of Meghri becomes irreversible, even if the current regime loses the upcoming elections.
"For Israel and the United States, it is critical to isolate Iran and cut off its transit and communication routes to the Caucasus, Europe, and the outside world from the north. Iran is already cut off from the south. Moving forward, by utilizing the Zangezur Corridor and gaining access to Azerbaijan, the U.S. and Israel will be able to sever Iran's northbound routes across the Caspian Sea," Khachikyan asserted. Consequently, he argues, Armenia is aligning itself with the anti-Iranian camp taking on massive geopolitical risks and sacrificing the interests of the Armenian people for the benefit of foreign powers.
"The second goal is to once again support this regime on the eve of the elections. There will undoubtedly be sweet words spoken about democracy, victory, freedom, and human rights, while the ongoing threats, killings, crackdowns, arrests, and intimidation will be completely ignored. The end justifies the means," Khachikyan concluded.
