ArmInfo. Justice for the people of Artsakh must be restored, as stated by Catholicos of All Armenians Karekin II during a conversation with editors of several Armenian media outlets on June 2.
The Supreme Patriarch made these remarks in response to allegations from the Armenian authorities, who have accused the Armenian Apostolic Church, led by the Catholicos, of acting as a "war party" because prayers for Artsakh are offered during liturgy.
Karekin II dismissed these accusations as entirely unfounded. He emphasized that the Church utilizes every available platform to raise awareness about the release of Armenian prisoners of war and other detainees, as well as the preservation of Artsakh's spiritual and cultural heritage.
"We are not calling for war. However, peace must be built upon justice and the mutual respect of rights, rather than being one-sided and aimed at trampling the interests of our people. We are obliged to make every possible effort to ensure that justice prevails for the people of Artsakh," the Catholicos stated.
