ArmInfo. Searches are being conducted at the ARF Dashnaktsutyun (ARF) office in Gyumri and the apartments of "Armenia" bloc associates. This was reported on Facebook by Ishkhan Saghatelyan, a representative of the ARF Supreme Body and a member of the "Armenia" bloc.
The member of parliament expressed his conviction that this is a sign of desperate measures by the current government ahead of the June 7 parliamentary elections. "A search is currently underway at the ARF office in Gyumri and the apartments of our friends. The authorities' actions, especially the illegal attempts to disrupt the normal operations of opposition headquarters in recent days, are desperate steps aimed at influencing the will of voters and the election results. Therefore, we call on all our teammates to continue to carry out their work unhindered, no matter what. And we ask our compatriots not to retreat under any circumstances in the face of any threat and to respond to all these lawless acts by participating in the elections, refusing to allow a regime that refuses to respect the will of the people," Saghatelyan wrote. Earlier today, Kima Avdalyan, press secretary of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Armenia, reported that searches are being conducted at more than 50 addresses during the preliminary investigation of a criminal case opened on charges of material interest by numerous individuals and large-scale money laundering. As a reminder, on June 2, Armenia's Anti-Corruption Committee conducted searches at the Armenia bloc's election headquarters, specifically in Ashtarak, as well as at the apartment of Ashot Simonyan, chairman of the Armenian Revolutionary Federation (ARF) Dashnaktsutyun (ARF) supreme body. Saghatelyan stated at the time that these actions were motivated by fear of losing power.
