ArmInfo. The results of the June 7 parliamentary elections in Armenia will have a decisive impact on Armenia's statehood, national security, and the protection of the rights of the people of Artsakh, as stated by Ashot Danielyan, the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Artsakh, on Facebook.
He pointed out that the parliamentary elections in Armenia are taking place at a fateful juncture for the Armenian people, following the occupation of Artsakh and the forced displacement of its population.
"It is deeply concerning that healthy competition and the free presentation of political views and platforms during the pre-election period have transformed into a process of societal division, hate speech, and the exploitation of administrative resources, accompanied by political persecution, selective justice, and pressure on opponents. The Armenians of Artsakh have not been spared from this, as the incitement of hatred against them has continued and intensified," Danielyan emphasized.
He characterized the promotion of policies targeting national identity, historical memory, and spiritual values, as well as attempts to downplay the Artsakh issue and exclude it from Armenia's foreign policy agenda, as unacceptable.
"The people of Artsakh have experienced the severe consequences of this policy firsthand. I am confident that both the Artsakh Armenians participating in these elections and the overwhelming majority of our compatriots are capable of distinguishing truth from lies, falsehoods, and deception; dead silence from real peace; subservience to foreign interests from cooperation; and reckless adventurism from statesmanship. On June 7, they will choose those political forces capable of halting this catastrophe and securing a truly peaceful and dignified future for the Republic of Armenia," the Speaker of the Artsakh Parliament noted.
Danielyan assured that moving forward, they will continue to strive by all possible legal means to protect the rights of the people of Artsakh and fulfill their aspirations for return and the restoration of statehood. Concluding his statement, he expressed readiness to cooperate with the next Armenian administration that will be formed following the results of the vote.
"We stand ready for comprehensive cooperation with the new authorities of the Republic of Armenia for the sake of protecting the rights of Artsakh Armenians, ensuring the prosperity of our entire nation, and strengthening the Republic of Armenia," the Speaker of the Artsakh Parliament concluded.
