
ArmInfo.From the start of the regular parliamentary elections in Armenia on February 7, 2026, to June 7, 2026, as of 6:00 PM, 425 reports of overt crimes obstructing the electoral process have been received.
The press service of the Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia told ArmInfo that of the 425 reports, criminal proceedings were initiated in 186 of them. "Public criminal prosecutions were initiated against 300 individuals. Fourteen criminal cases against 42 individuals with approved indictments were transferred to the competent court," the office reported.
According to a source, petitions to initiate criminal prosecution and obtain consent for imprisonment were submitted to the Central Electoral Commission (CEC) against 13 parliamentary candidates. Twelve of these petitions were granted, and one petition will be reviewed soon. "Sixteen anonymous reports were received through the azdararir.am website, including from June 3 to 7. The data submitted to the prosecutor's office is regularly updated," the Prosecutor General's Office of Armenia summarized.
As a reminder, regular parliamentary elections were held in Armenia on June 7. 2,500 polling stations opened across the country at 8:00 AM local time. Most were equipped with surveillance cameras. Voting concluded at 8:00 PM local time, and polling stations across the country closed. Voter turnout for the regular parliamentary elections at the close of polling stations was 58.97%. By that time, 1,476,597 citizens had voted in the elections out of 2,505,228 eligible voters.
Eighteen political forces - two blocs and 16 parties - participated in the elections. Among the favorites were the Civil Contract party of incumbent Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan, the Strong Armenia bloc of businessman Samvel Karapetyan, the Armenia bloc of second president Robert Kocharyan, and the Prosperous Armenia party of businessman Gagik Tsarukyan. From early morning, observers and journalists reported numerous violations during the voting process.
