Wings of Unity: Ruling party did not actually receive support reflected in officially announced election results

ArmInfo. The "Wings of Unity" party considers the parliamentary election results announced by the Central Electoral Commission of Armenia to be illegal.

The party's statement, in particular, notes that the 2026 parliamentary elections were held under conditions of unequal, unfair, and deeply distorted competition, with the open use of the state apparatus in the interests of the Civil Contract party and numerous violations of the law. Specifically, the electoral process was, from the very beginning, characterized by unprecedented abuse of administrative resources by the authorities.  The entire system of public administration and local self-government, financed from the Armenian state budget, was put to serve the interests of the Civil Contract party. Individuals were employed in state and municipal structures, as well as in subordinate organizations, who were effectively involved in the election campaign in the interests of the ruling party.

"In other words, a pre-planned scheme was in place, coordinated at the highest levels of government and characteristic of regimes seeking to establish total political control. High-ranking government officials responsible for the Civil Contract election campaign systematically pressured, coerced, and intimidated citizens in favor of the ruling party. A distinctive feature of these elections was that community leaders and governors not only coordinated this process but also personally participated in pressuring citizens, including school and kindergarten directors, teachers, educators, students, and others. Citizens were required to attend events hosted by the Civil Contract party leader en masse, threatening dismissals, tax penalties, and other forms of pressure. We published audio recordings confirming these facts, including instances of pressure on kindergarten directors, and contacted law enforcement agencies. However, no response was forthcoming from them during the election campaign," the statement reads. At the same time, as the document emphasizes, law enforcement intervention against representatives of opposition political forces, often following public instructions from Nikol Pashinyan, was swift and systemic, and was accompanied by one-sided propaganda that misled society.

"We condemn any form of vote-buying, but we consider it necessary to record that it was the ruling Civil Contract party that used the state budget for this purpose in preparation for the election campaign. During these elections, the leader of the ruling party, in an attempt to unlawfully influence the will of citizens, resorted to a completely unacceptable campaign tactic-inciting fears of war, which undermines the foundations of national stability. The entire election campaign, with the direct support of the authorities, was accompanied by insults, threats, and hate speech. These manifestations were then actively disseminated through pro-government media and numerous social media pages. As a result, citizens were deprived of the opportunity to objectively compare the platforms of the election participants, evaluate them, and make an informed choice. These elections were also accompanied by interference in Armenia's internal processes by foreign capitals-Baku, Ankara, Brussels, Washington, and Moscow. Instead of uniting the Armenian people, the elections further deepened the divisions in society, intensifying an atmosphere of intolerance and fear.

Immediately after the voting, Nikol Pashinyan declared the victory of the Civil Contract party and his intention to independently form a government, despite the fact that at that time only slightly more than 10 percent of the votes had been counted. Moreover, the data on the Central Election Commission website was updated irregularly and without any clear periodicity, and the figures inexplicably decreased and then increased. It is obvious that this statement by Nikol Pashinyan contradicted the Constitution, exceeded his authority, and constituted illegal pressure on the Central Election Commission with the aim of influencing the election results. Another manifestation of illegality was his threats to hold various opposition leaders accountable, which effectively appeared as a direct order to law enforcement agencies. We are convinced that the ruling Civil Contract party did not actually receive the support reflected in the officially announced election results. Our assessments are based on objective evidence and are supported by specific facts. The parliament formed as a result of these violations will experience a serious deficit in public trust and legitimacy. Under these circumstances, the greatest danger is the reproduction of The current government and its anti-national and anti-state policies.

We categorically reject the election results announced by the Central Electoral Commission on June 14 and consider them illegal, as they do not reflect the true will of the citizens of the Republic of Armenia.

At the same time, we support the statement by political forces not recognizing the election results. Our party also took a similar position on June 8. We will continue our struggle using all legal, political, and other legitimate means," the party's statement reads.
