ArmInfo. A criminal case against Karapet Guloyan, son-in-law of Prosperous Armenia Party leader Gagik Tsarukyan, has been sent to the competent court of Armenia. This was reported in a statement by the press service of the Prosecutor General's Office of the Republic of Armenia, which clarified that the supervising prosecutor approved the indictment.
The Prosecutor General's Office reports that the prosecutor has opened a public criminal case against K.G. for committing illegal actions with confiscated property. The department recalled that, among other things, on May 12, 2026, based on a final decision on the confiscation of illegally acquired property, the Republic of Armenia registered ownership of 91 percent of the property of former Kotayk Governor and former head of the Abovyan community, Karapet Guloyan, and his wife, Roza Tsarukyan, located in the village of Arinj in the Kotayk region. The criminal case documented that K.G. was notified that the Anti-Corruption Court had applied a precautionary measure-seizure-in the event of the confiscation of illegally acquired property, and the court prohibited any actions related to the disposal of this property. However, Karapet Guloyan organized damage to the exterior and interior walls of the residential building, as well as the basement walls. Specifically, he organized the dismantling of the exterior and interior roof tiles of the residential building, the removal of doors and windows, and damaged the interior finishes of the building, including electrical wiring, interior wall and ceiling finishes, and parquet flooring. He also damaged the courtyard pool and roofing. As a result of these actions, the state suffered at least 229 million drams in damages.
On June 10, 2026, by decision of the Kotayk Regional Court of First Instance, K.G. was placed under house arrest for one month and released on bail in the amount of 20 million drams. The prosecutor will file a lawsuit seeking compensation for damages caused to the state.
