Two detained in serviceman death case 

ArmInfo. Two people have been detained in connection with the death of Narek Torosyan, a serviceman  from the Nth military unit of the Armenian Armed Forces. This was  reported by the Investigative Committee of Armenia.

The department reported that during the preliminary investigation into the criminal  case opened in connection with the death of a serviceman, a public  criminal prosecution was initiated against his colleague, a junior  sergeant, under paragraphs 1, 2, and 3 of Part 2 of Article 522 of  the Criminal Code, and against the private serviceman, under  paragraphs 1 and 3 of Part 2 of Article 522 (driving a serviceman to  suicide through negligence).

"Both were detained. A petition for their arrest has been filed with  the court," the Investigative Committee of Armenia stated.

It should be noted that on July 22, it was revealed that the  serviceman who died on July 21 in military unit N was RAU student  Narek Torosyan.

Interestingly, the Armenian Ministry of Defense made no announcement  regarding the death. The Investigative Committee of Armenia's initial  statement contained no information other than the fact of non- combat  death and the initiation of a criminal case, and Then, only the  initials of the deceased soldier were released. This sparked outrage  in Armenian society, as it left the parents of the young men  currently serving in the army uncertain, as their initials could have  matched those of the deceased. In the past, the Armenian Ministry of  Defense typically published the first, last, and patronymic names of  the deceased.

Meanwhile, according to media reports, the soldier was brutally  beaten. Moreover, this occurred during his first combat duty, which  prompted him to commit suicide. However, such incidents are typically  considered premeditated murder. It is reported that two  suspects-servicemen from the same military unit in Chambarak-are  expected to be detained in the case.
