Furthermore, he signed the "Agreement on the Establishment of Peace and Interstate Relations between the Republic of Armenia and the Republic of Azerbaija," the statement on the official website of the Hessischer Landtag reads.
The Hessian Peace Prize is presented by the Albert Osswald Foundation, established in 1994 by the former Hessian Minister-President and his family. The award is endowed with EUR 25,000. It is awarded for efforts to end wars, violence, or conflicts that carry the risk of violence, for preventive measures, for the development of strategies to prevent violent conflicts, and for contributions to international Mutual understanding. The prize is advised by a board of trustees comprising representatives from Germany's leading peace research institutes.
