


ArmInfo. The Ministry of Defense and the Investigative Committee have denied rumors about soldiers jogging in gas masks, during which they were struck by a truck in Chambarak.
"Various information about the circumstances of the accident in Chambarak is circulating in the press and social media, although an investigation into the incident has already begun. Following a joint discussion with colleagues from the Investigative Committee, we believe it is necessary to address one of these rumors: claims that the soldiers were running in gas masks are not true," the Ministry of Defense and the Investigative Committee stated in a joint statement.
Media reports have surfaced that a group of errant soldiers were ordered to put on gas masks and go jogging as punishment, during which the tragedy occurred. The statement stated that this information is untrue.
It was previously reported that on August 19 at 9:00 PM on the road leading to Chambarak, the driver of a GAZ-53 truck struck a group of soldiers. As a result of the accident, one soldier died instantly, and six others were hospitalized. The Investigative Committee has opened a case, and the truck driver has been detained.
