Armenian diplomats visit Akhurik checkpoint on border with Turkey

ArmInfo.  The leadership of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the heads of diplomatic services  abroad visited the Akhurik checkpoint on the Armenian-Turkish border  and the Akhuryan station on the Gyumri-Kars railway.

According to the press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry, the  importance of restoring and operating the railway, as well as the  progress of work in this direction, were discussed during the visit.

Earlier, Armenian authorities announced their intention to restore  railway sections leading to the borders of Azerbaijan and Turkey as  part of the process of lifting the blockade of transport  communications in the South Caucasus.
