The development and deepening of bilateral cooperation between Armenia and Belgium were the subject of discussions between the Speaker of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, Ruben Rubinyan, and the Chairman of the Belgian Reform Movement Party, Member of the Belgian Federal Parliament, Georges-Louis Boucher.
As reported by the press service of the National Assembly of the Republic of Armenia, During the meeting, opportunities for expanding and developing economic cooperation were discussed.
The interlocutors exchanged views on the development of partnership between Armenia and the EU.
The need to develop interparliamentary ties was also emphasized.
It should be noted that in the first six months of 2026, exports from Armenia to Belgium more than doubled (2.1 times) compared to the same period in 2025, amounting to $113.7 million. Shipments to Belgium demonstrated one of the highest growth rates among European destinations, amid an overall increase in Armenia's exports to the European Union. The increase in trade turnover and shipments is primarily due to the active export of raw materials, primarily copper ore and metals.
