


ArmInfo.Supreme Patriarch and Catholicos of All Armenians Garegin II at a meeting in the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin with a delegation of the Calouste Gulbenkian Foundation. Led by António Feijo, Chairman of the Foundation's Board of Trustees, the meeting praised the Foundation's humanitarian mission and its fruitful activities aimed at developing education, science, and culture in various countries.
According to the Press Office of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, His Holiness particularly noted the Foundation's initiatives aimed at strengthening Armenia and the Armenian communities of the Diaspora.
The Catholicos of All Armenians also noted with satisfaction the Foundation's long-standing cooperation with the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, mentioning the support provided in 1954 for the restoration of the Cathedral, and subsequently the assistance provided for the construction of the monastery complex of the Mother See of Holy Etchmiadzin, as well as the activities of the Gevorkian Theological Seminary.
Then the Armenian Patriarch, touching on the recent major restoration and rededication of the Cathedral, He emphasized the special mission of this most sacred relic of the Armenian people in preserving national identity, ensuring the continuity of generations, and strengthening national unity.
His Holiness wished the Foundation's leadership and staff to continue to fulfill the vision of the outstanding son of the Armenian people, Calouste Gulbenkian, in the same spirit and with the same dedication, by promoting the education of new generations, the development of scientific thought, and the preservation of culture.
