On October 8, Marianna Kahramanyan, Deputy Chair of the National Assembly Committee on Human Rights and Public Affairs, met with a delegation led by Christian Schimek, Head of the Health and Addiction Care Unit of the Council of Europe's Directorate General for Human Rights and Rule of Law.
According to the NA press service, Marianna Kahramanyan presented the proposed amendments and changes to the Law "On Medicines," submitted by the Strong Armenia faction.
The purpose of the bill is to simplify the procedure for recognizing medicines in Armenia that have passed examination and are registered in EU member states.
According to Marianna Kahramanyan, the adoption of the bill will contribute to improving the process of providing the population with high-quality and affordable medicines. She emphasized that the initiative is important not only for addressing social and medical issues, but also for the implementation of European standards and European integration.
Christian Šimek expressed gratitude for the information provided and noted that she would forward information about the draft law to the relevant Council of Europe bodies dealing with issues of quality and registration of medicines.
During the meeting, the interlocutors expressed their willingness to continue cooperation and discussed industry programs being implemented in Armenia.
