ArmInfo. Azerbaijan has no intention of demarcating the border, so the Armenian side needs to reach out to its international partners to intensify this process. Mane Tandilyan, co-founder of the Country for Life party, wrote this on her Facebook page.
"The tragic incident in the village of Shaki, in addition to many other causes, is also a consequence of the lack of border demarcation. Two years have passed since the provisions of the border demarcation commission between Armenia and Azerbaijan came into force, but demarcation work has still not been carried out on any section of the border." Before the regulations were approved, the illegal demarcation carried out in the Tavush direction was aimed solely at fulfilling Azerbaijan's legitimate demands," Mane Tandilyan noted.
According to her, if the remaining section of the border is demarcated, not only will Azerbaijani troops leave most of Armenia's territory, but it will also be possible to ensure normal border security, primarily with barbed wire.
"However, it is obvious that Azerbaijan has no intention of demarcating the border, so it is necessary to appeal to international partners to support this process and ensure the speedy implementation of border demarcation, as a commitment assumed by both countries," the politician noted.
