ArmInfo. The "Strong Armenia" bloc warned during the pre-election period that Azerbaijani soldiers could infiltrate the republic. Samvel Karapetyan, the bloc's leader, told reporters this on October 9 outside the courthouse, commenting on the incident in the village of Shaki.
According to Samvel Karapetyan, the Azerbaijani soldier's infiltration deep into Armenian territory is only the first step. If there is no
appropriate counterattack, the politician and businessman believes, such incidents will continue, and with much greater vigor. "I would like to express my support for our heroic Armenian woman, who, no longer relying on Nikol Pashinyan's government, personally defended her children and her family. "We will definitely provide assistance to this woman's family in our own way," noted Samvel Karapetyan.
He added that the criminal who committed the crime must be held accountable to the full extent of the law. He must subsequently be exchanged for Armenian prisoners of war. However, the politician did not rule out the possibility that an essay writer (National Assembly Speaker Ruben Rubinyan - ed.) might be found in Armenia who would concoct another tall tale, and the criminal would be returned to Azerbaijan. "Just as Artsakh was passed with essays and dictations," said Samvel Karapetyan, adding that in two weeks the bloc will present its initiatives aimed at resolving the issues facing the country. Steps will be taken to unite real opposition forces, after which a united front will begin.
Commenting on RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan's assertion that Armenia could face a problem if an Armenian soldier were to suddenly become lost in adjacent territory, Karapetyan wondered where the defense minister and generals would be during that time. "Let them properly organize their service so that the soldiers remain on their own territory. Besides, we all know that Pashinyan is an executor of Aliyev's will. Aliyev says something, and Pashinyan is trying to intimidate the opposition. When we begin the unification process, I will appeal to representatives of the ruling Civil Contract party to join us. Especially since they have become executors of Pashinyan's will." "I sometimes feel pain from the fact that some of them, while being perfectly decent people, continue to carry out Pashinyan's will," said Samvel Karapetyan.
He also pointed to the current government's theft of votes. In this case, it's not even about the theft of votes from the Prosperous Armenia party, but specifically from the Strong Armenia bloc. If not for this fact, many opposition figures would remain free. "There is only one person in Armenia who, along with his team, constantly leads the country into catastrophic and defeatist wars. Once this person is removed, everyone will forget about wars," Samvel Karapetyan noted.
As a reminder, on October 1, an incident involving a serviceman of the Azerbaijani Armed Forces occurred in the village of Shaki in Armenia's Syunik region. Azerbaijani serviceman Nasimi Musayev crossed the Armenian-Azerbaijani border and traveled approximately 10 kilometers into Armenian territory, reaching the village of Shaki. In the village, he entered the home of local resident Ani Avetisyan and opened fire, injuring her. The woman, defending her children, managed to stab the Azerbaijani with a knife. Musayev was located and detained. On October 2, a criminal case was opened against him and he was arrested for two months. RA Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan characterized the incident as a routine criminal offense and stated that the investigation and sentence should take place in Armenia. The parliamentary opposition sharply criticized the authorities, calling the incident evidence of critical border insecurity and a shattered "illusion of peace."
