


ArmInfo. Armenian Foreign Minister Ararat Mirzoyan held a telephone conversation with Turkish Foreign Minister Hakan Fidan.
According to the press service of the Armenian Foreign Ministry, the two discussed Armenian-Turkish cooperation and exchanged views on existing issues of regional cooperation and within the framework of multilateral platforms.
As a reminder, then-Turkish Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu announced the launch of the process of normalizing Armenian-Turkish relations on December 13, 2021. He also emphasized that Ankara would act in coordination with Azerbaijan regarding steps to normalize relations with Armenia. The parties appointed special representatives of Turkey and Armenia for the normalization process, Serdar Kılıç and Ruben Rubinyan, who have already held several rounds of negotiations.
As a result, a simplified entry regime for holders of service and special passports came into effect on January 1, 2026. In May 2026, the special representatives signed a protocol on the joint restoration of the historic Ani Bridge. At the same time, Turkey and Armenia completed preparations for direct trade and allowed the final destination or origin to be indicated as "Armenia/Turkey" in documents for shipments through third countries.
