The UN Secretary-General visited the Matenadaran

ArmInfo. A delegation led by UN Secretary-General António Guterres, who arrived in Armenia for COP17, visited the Matenadaran Museum of Ancient Manuscripts.

Accompanied by Minister of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports Zhanna Andreasyan, the guest was introduced to unique examples of Armenian manuscript heritage.

At the end of his visit, António Guterres left a note in the Matenadaran's impressions book: "I express my deep gratitude to all the women and men whose work contributed to the preservation and development of this unique treasure trove of Armenian culture and history—for the benefit of the Armenian people and the cultural heritage of the entire world."
