ArmInfo. The house arrest of Fatherland Party Secretary General Khachik Galstyan has been extended for three months. This was announced on his Facebook page by lawyer Arsen Babayan, who published a message from Galstyan from house arrest.
"On October 15, the Leaders' Summit began in Armenia as part of the 17th Conference of the Parties to the UN Convention on Biological Diversity (COP17). That same day, the issue of changing my pretrial detention was discussed. The judge retired to his deliberation room for half an hour and then disappeared indefinitely. Today, the court's decision was finally announced." "My arrest has been extended for another three months," Galstyan noted in his message.
For his part, the lawyer promised to provide details of the case later.
As a reminder, on December 29, 2025, searches were conducted at the home of Khachik Galstyan, Secretary General of the opposition Rodina party, after which he was detained. By a court decision on December 30, Galstyan was placed under arrest for two months. The arrest was later extended. He is accused of paying election bribes during the Vagharshapat Council of Elders elections held on November 16. Galstyan's defense team considers the charges against their client to be groundless. On February 26, 2026, the court changed Galstyan's arrest to house arrest.
