A story based on the events of the April 2016 war has been included in the Russian language textbook for 11th-grade students in Armenia.

ArmInfo. The story "Saved Melody" by Artsakh writer and journalist Ashot Beglaryan, based on real events from the 2016 Four-Day War in the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR), has been included in the Russian language textbook for 11th-grade students in Armenia's high schools.

According to the press service of the Russian community of the NKR, the textbook was published in 2026 by order of the Ministry of Education, Science, Culture, and Sports (MECS) of Armenia. It is noted that this is Ashot Beglaryan's second work included in Armenia's school curriculum. In 2019, his story "Mother," dedicated to an episode of the First Karabakh War (1991-1994), was published in the reissued textbook "Russian Language." "Dialogue of Cultures" for 12th-grade students in Armenian high schools with a humanities focus. The inclusion of Ashot Beglaryan's works in school textbooks demonstrates recognition of his literary work and contributes to the preservation of the historical memory of the events in Artsakh," the Russian community of the NKR noted.

As a reminder, on April 2, 2016, the Azerbaijani Armed Forces initiated aggression against Artsakh, which was accompanied by war crimes, gross violations of the laws and customs of war, as well as international humanitarian law. Independent experts are inclined to believe that this aggression was a test of ground for the subsequent de-Armenization of Artsakh by the enemy. During intense fighting, units of the Artsakh Defense Army destroyed two Azerbaijani helicopters attacking Armenian positions, 26 tanks, 14 drones, one BM-21 (Grad) rocket-artillery mount, four infantry fighting vehicles, and one engineering mount. During the fighting on the line of contact, the Armenian side lost 64 servicemen, 13 volunteers, and four civilians, with more than 120 wounded. Another nine servicemen died after the cessation of active hostilities, before April 13, and several died later in hospitals. Based on State Department data presented in Vienna on May 16 of that year, it is clear that in addition to the 81 Armenian casualties, approximately 270 Azerbaijanis were killed. At the same time, analysts from the international research group Bellingcat estimated Baku's losses at 400-500 killed soldiers.
