Valentina Matviyenko: Moscow will keep exerting efforts for peaceful settlement of Karabakh conflict

Moscow will keep exerting efforts for peaceful settlement of the Karabakh conflict, Valentina Matviyenko, Speaker of the Federation Council of Russia, stated at the press conference in the Armenia's National Assembly on November 2. 

According to her, the Karabakh conflict is the most protracted conflict in the post-soviet space, as it lasts for 30 years and has no positive neither economic nor humanitarian and social impact on the both sides of the conflict. According to the Russian politician, this conflict is a constant center of tension in the region. 

"Moscow exerts all the possible efforts in the frameworks of the Minsk group both on bilateral and multilateral levels for the conflict settlement, which unfortunately has lingered.

But we are sure that the conflict can be settled only by peaceful means, using political-diplomatic methods and no resolution by force is possible", she noted. At the same time she added that Russia will keep exerting its efforts for the peaceful settlement, which will meet both Armenia's and Azerbaijan's interests.
