Rebels speak to their arrested leader

The armed rebels, who seized the building of the Patrol- Guard Service Regiment of Armenian Police on July 17, have had a phone conversation with their arrested leader Zhirayr Sefilyan.      

As Pavel Manukyan, one of the leaders of the armed group, has told ArmInfo's correspondent, it has become clear after the phone call that Sefilyan was unaware of their actions. "When he heard what has happened, he only told us to act at our discretion," Manukyan says.   

For his part, Varuzhan Avetisyan says that Sefilyan has proposed a third option for settlement of the situation, which is currently being discussed. He also notes that they and the

hostages need food.  
To note, the rebels have stated that they are going to fight to the end. They stress that they do not intend to quit their demands and they hope for public support. The armed group demands releasing Zhirayr Sefilyan.
