Deputy Minister: Armenia-EU Agreement needs to be renewed

ArmInfo. The current Agreement between Armenia and European Union needs to be renewed, Garegin Melkonyan, the First Deputy Minister of Economic Development and Investments stated at the Conference on Armenia-EU Relations and  Prospective,  held in Yerevan . 

The Agreement becoming a basis for Armenia-EU relations was  signed  in 1996, and its implementation began in 1999. In this respect, the  Comprehensive pre-signed in March and being under preparation for  final signing, opens large opportunities for  both parties, and is a  objective necessity," he mentioned. 

Melkonyan informed also about preparatory works in respect to  harmonization of the Agreement to existing norms, mentioning that  those will be completed by November summit of EU. According to him,  Parties do their best for that.
