Armen Sarkissian: Serving the interests of the people means serving  the interests of friendship between the Armenian and Russian peoples

Sarkissian noted that this allows the president to mediate between  different political parties, organizations, and organize a dialogue  between the parties. The  President stated that he was not pro-Western or pro-military, but a  pro-Armenian figure. "Since the majority of Armenians believe that  Russia is their best friend, serving the interests of the people  means serving the interests of friendship between the Armenian and  Russian peoples," Sargsyan said. At the same time, the president  stressed that he is not at all satisfied with the Armenian-Russian  relations. "The thing is that in my understanding we could have  deeper and broader relations, I am not satisfied with the way we are  represented in Russia today, although there are about three million  Armenians living in Russia, as much as in Armenia." Our cultural and  I do not like the educational presence (in Russia), I would like to  see a wider representation of Russia in the cultural sphere of  Armenia, be it theaters, cinema, art, literature, "Sargsyan said.  Also, the President of Armenia is not satisfied with economic  relations. At the same time he expressed a desire to meet with the  head of Russia Vladimir Putin.

Sarkissian said that Armenia could become a real partner of the  Russian Federation and the countries of the Eurasian space, for  example in the field of new technologies. Since we have  IT-technologies in Armenia are developing very actively.

Regarding the information that Sargsyan intends to create his own  political party, the President noted that this would go against the  Armenian Constitution. At the same time, he noted that he dreams  about the stability of the state, overcoming corruption,  strengthening ties with Karabakh and the Diaspora, which is several  times greater than the Republic of Armenia. Sargsyan said that  Armenia showed the world that it has a beautiful stable banking  system. The system passed all the exams, including the "velvet"  revolution. It can serve not only Armenia, but also the Eurasian  space. Also, the president touched upon the possibilities of Armenia  in the EAEU. "When I talk to foreign investors, I'm not saying that  this is a market of 3.5 million people, it's a 200 million market."  We are part of an economic union where there are so many obstacles,  you can register, start your business in Armenia, but to deliver its  services and products to Russia, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan, Belarus, and  maybe tomorrow, somewhere else, "Sargsyan said. The President noted  that Armenia is an attractive country, has not yet fully disclosed  its capabilities in the EAEU. According to Sargsyan, it is necessary  to work and show that Armenia can become a strong partner of the  Eurasian space, especially given that it has yet signed an agreement  with the European Union.  Among other things, RA, being a member of  the EAEU has a good relationship with Europe. Thus, "It is a unique  country, a unique little bridge that can serve everyone's benefit."  Armenia, being at the crossroads of many civilizations, has learned  to live in peace with many, and Armenians work very well in different  countries, "the president said. As for the risks, according to the  president, the risk that arises in a small space, if its elements  have huge energy, can cause a chain reaction. Whether it's financial,  economic, or viral risks, everything is interconnected in the world.  Therefore, it cannot be said that only local risks threaten Armenia.  Sargsyan also noted that he hopes that there will come a time when  problems in the world will be solved only through political dialogue  and that Armenia has a worthy place in this global world. "The  Armenian and Russian peoples are waiting for a wonderful future,  which is based on our common history," the Armenian President  concluded.
