Sharmazanov: In the face of the intensified Turkish-Azerbaijani tandem, it is impermissible to divide society into "our own and others`

ArmInfo. The Vice Speaker  of the Armenian Parliament Eduard Sharmazanov made a statement  regarding the latest developments on the Armenian-Azerbaijani border,  in Azerbaijan and Armenia.  In the statement of Sharmazanov, in  particular, it is noted: "While in Armenia we continue to divide the  society into our own and others', black and white, Turkey and  Azerbaijan intensified their efforts towards consolidating around the  ideas of pan-Turkism, as evidenced by the escalation on the  Armenian-Azerbaijani border and the more assertive statements of  Aliyev and Erdogan made during the 100th anniversary of the  "liberation" of Baku. Aliyev once again voiced the thesis - "one  nation, two states", stressing that Turkey and Azerbaijan should  consolidate their fight against a single enemy, moreover, he stressed  that the more powerful Turkey will be, the stronger Azerbaijan will  be. Erdogan surpassed him, and, contrary to all international legal  norms, stated that Turkey will continue the blockade of Armenia until  the territories controlled by the Armenian side are returned. I think  that the international community and the authorized structures should  assess these statements of the leaders of the two countries, as well  as the escalation of the situation on the Armenian- Azerbaijani  border. Further silence of the international community will lead to  an even more aggravated situation. "

As for the "threats" of the two leaders that the flags of Azerbaijan  and Turkey will be flown in Stepanakert, Sharmazanov did not rule out  such a development, but only if Ankara and Baku open their diplomatic  missions in Artsakh and hoist their flags above them.

However, the Vice-Speaker stressed, in this situation we should not  rely on the international community and plenipotentiary structures,  we must consolidate ourselves and remain vigilant, not to focus on  secondary problems, leaving aside the most topical issue - the issue  of national security. "In the current situation, we must, as much as  possible, soberly assess the situation, consolidate before the threat  of an external enemy.

Azerbaijan and Turkey today are challenging not only Artsakh, but  also Armenia, shooting at its border villages. And today, taking this  into account, it is not time to divide society into "Nicholas" and  Republicans, "black and white", "their own and others",  revolutionaries and counter-revolutionaries. We must be united today,  as never before, and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan should appeal to  the people for unity, as the first person of the state. He must  reconsider his strategy of dividing society into his own and others'.  Mr. Pashinyan - You are the premier of all Armenians, regardless of  the sympathies of those or other layers to you, your team and your  policy. In this fateful moment for Armenia and Artsakh, you must  learn from the past, make a call for unity. You can do it, we will  have new sardarapatas, no - we will suffer the same shameful defeat  as in Kars 100 years ago, "Sharmazanov summed up.
