Candidate for mayor: I voted for the brilliant future of Yerevan

ArmInfo."I voted in the name of the brilliant future of Yerevan," Ararat Zurabyan, candidate for mayor of Yerevan from the "Yerevanians" block, told journalists  after the voting in the polling station 9/24, where the elections to  the Council of Elders of the Armenian capital are held.

According to Zurabyan, today the election campaign is qualitatively  different from the previous ones. "It is clear to the Yerevaners that  the mechanisms used earlier in these elections will not pass," the  candidate said. He congratulated everyone on this day, calling the  elections unprecedented, since before the polling stations there are  no more those who were earlier, who rigged, changed ballots, brought,  carried away. He is sure that the elections will be held well and  there will be a picture reflecting the situation in Yerevan.

Speaking about the incident in the Ajapnyak community, the politician  said that the police should not give an occasion for divulging each  unverified call. He believes that a misunderstanding has occurred,  since it is obvious that all forces clearly understood that bribes  will not be held in these elections. "And every block, party,  candidate knew about this," Ararat Zurabyan stated, noting that all  this "spoiled the atmosphere" a bit, but he would not want that.

Extraordinary elections to the Council of Elders of Yerevan started  on September 23 in the capital of Armenia. There are four blocs and  eight parties in the elections. According to the results of the vote,  the first number of the list of political force, which received more  than 50% of the vote, automatically becomes the mayor of the capital  of Armenia. If none of the political forces has won more than 50% of  the votes, all factions included in the Council of Elders have the  right to nominate their candidate, who must be elected by a majority  vote of the members of the Council, consisting of 65 members.
