Armen Ashotyan to Nikol Pashinyan: We need to negotiate without  emotion and excessive nervousness

ArmInfo. It is obvious that  meetings like the one that took place between Vahram Baghdasaryan and  Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan are necessary. Chairman of the  Standing Committee of the National Assembly on Foreign Affairs,  deputy Chairman of RPA Armen Ashotyan said this on October 2 in a  conversation with journalists, commenting on the meeting of Prime  Minister Nikol Pashinyan with the head of the Republican faction  Vahram Baghdasaryan yesterday.

The MP noted that the purpose of these meetings is not to satisfy one  of the parties. "Obviously, both Vahram Baghdasaryan and Nikol  Pashinyan did not go to this meeting to have a cup of coffee. It was  a working discussion, and its goal was not a process, but a result,"  Ashotyan said. The MP considered it quite natural that the details of  Pashinyan's meeting with Baghdasaryan are not known. Ashotyan  considers that the details of such meetings should remain secret. At  the same time, he stated that the positions of the Republican Party  and the Government of Armenia are not too different. "I was somewhat  surprised that the Prime Minister ascribed to the RPA that the  party's representatives do not want to hold early parliamentary  elections until 2020. There is no such decision in the faction.  Certainly, some deputies, including Vice- Speaker Eduard Sharmazanov,  me and Gagik Melikyan express different points of view, however, such  decisions cannot be ascribed to the faction on the basis of  yesterday's meeting with Vahram Baghdasaryan, "the MP stressed.

At the same time, Ashotyan that holding early parliamentary elections  depends not only on the Republican Party, but also on the meeting of  the prime minister with representatives of other parliamentary  factions.  "We need to negotiate without excessive nervousness.  During the last interview, the Prime Minister seemed to be worried,  while all emotions should be put aside, and information about the  results of the meeting should not be disclosed. I appreciate Nikol  Pashinyan and Vahram Baghdasaryan's intention not to fully disclose  the details of their meeting ", Ashotyan stressed.

The MP also noted that Nikol Pashinyan is in such a hurry to hold  early parliamentary elections due to the fact that he fears that on  May 9, when his constitutional immunity is over, he may receive a  vote of no confidence. 

In turn, MP from the Yelk faction Edmond Marukyan said that the bloc  had repeatedly said that they supported the Prime Minister's idea to  hold early parliamentary elections. Marukyan stated that they are  ready to participate in the early parliamentary elections this year.  "In fact, we have recently finished our election campaign and are  ready for a new one, although not all are ready for the elections,"  said Marukyan.
