Nikol Pashinyan and Ara Babloyan discussed extraordinary  parliamentary elections

ArmInfo.On October 10, a working meeting was held at the National Assembly of Armenia with Speaker Ara Babloyan and Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. The  interlocutors, among other issues, touched upon the holding of  extraordinary parliamentary elections, the press service of the  legislature reports.

In particular, the parties reaffirmed the previously voiced position  that all issues should be resolved through negotiations and mutual  understanding.

During the working meeting, the head of the government and the NA  Speaker also discussed the organization of the upcoming CSTO PA  Council in Yerevan on October 29-30 and the holding of the ninth  plenary session of the Assembly. Ara Babloyan informed that with this  purpose, on October 12, he is scheduled to meet with the State Duma  Speaker Vyacheslav Volodin. The prime minister reaffirmed his  readiness to take an active part in the work of the PA CSTO Council  of Yerevan and holding the ninth plenary session of the Assembly.

Note that earlier today Pashinyan arrived in parliament to meet with  the speaker of the National Assembly of Armenia, Ara Babloyan, and  the head of RPA faction Vagram Baghdasaryan, as indicated by the  prime minister "resolution of the tense domestic political  situation". 

He also said that he will meet with representatives of the ARF  Dashnaktsutyun. After the meeting, Vahram Baghdasaryan stated that  the decision to refuse the nomination of the Republican Party's  candidate for the post of Prime Minister in the case of Nikol  Pashinyan's resignation was made 6 months ago. He also assured that  the RPA faction decided not to hinder the work of the government. The  deputy did not answer the question of whether the Republican Party  will take part in early parliamentary elections. "We don't know when  they will take place, when the time comes, then we will talk about  it," said the head of the RPA faction. Baghdasaryan did not rule out  the possibility that the Republican Party could become a non-  parliamentary political force. Nikol Pashinyan, in his turn, called  reasonable the decision of the faction of the Republican Party of  Armenia (RPA) to support the holding of early elections to the  National Assembly in December and not to nominate its own candidate  for the post of head of government if he resigns. "There are  realities that must be reckoned with," he said.

Recall that a number of former and current members of the  parliamentary faction of the Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) issued  a statement on the eve in which they supported the position of Prime  Minister Nikol Pashinyan to hold early parliamentary elections in  December of this year. The statement was joined by 16 deputies, 9 of  whom are members of the RPA faction.
